SKIT WORKPLACE SOCIAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS

This class utilizes established improvisational techniques to help address social communication skills needed to excel in the workplace. Through improvisational activities, including role plays and discussion, students will focus on skills such as how to interview for a job, ways to manage workplace conflicts, and how to deliver a presentation to a group. 

This class is designed for anyone who may benefit from:

- learning skills to use in their workplace or for future employment

- social and communication activities that involve more language and discussion

Class Placement Guidelines

  • In this class, participants should have enough verbal language skills to be able to engage in role-playing and discussions. (For participants with less developed verbal language skills please consider our Developing Social Communication Skills classes and curriculum).

SKIT Workplace is divided into 4 different and progressive Modules:

All Modules focus on Nonverbal Communication, Interpersonal Skills, and Executive Functioning Skills such as Working Memory, Self Control and Flexible Thinking.

Module 4 culminates in using all previously learned skills to be able to interview and present to others. Other role-playing types of activities are included in this module to continue to develop previous social communication skills.
